Evnex E2 Core

Overview

The Evnex E2 Core is a 7.4 kW / 6-32 A single-phase charger with a 5 m tethered Type 2 cable. It connects over Wi-Fi and provides scheduling, app control, solar-export diversion and home overload protection. The Australian package includes a power sensor CT, which provides the site energy measurement used by the solar and overload-control functions. The enclosure is rated IP55/IK08 and the charger operates from -25°C to 55°C. South Australia's registered-equipment list records current E2 Core variants as single-phase OCPP 1.6 equipment.

Using this charger at home in Australia

On a suitable installation, this charger can provide up to 7.4 kW. Actual charging speed also depends on the vehicle's onboard AC charging limit and the configured site capacity.

Where the charger and required monitoring equipment support solar-aware charging, the system can adjust EV charging in response to available solar generation. The exact behaviour depends on the charger, metering or sensors, inverter setup and configuration.

Where supported and correctly configured, load management can reduce EV charging power when other household loads increase, helping keep total demand within the configured site limit.

OCPP support allows the charger to communicate with compatible OCPP charging-management platforms. OCPP support by itself does not guarantee integration with a home battery, solar inverter, electricity tariff or every third-party platform.

The manufacturer lists an IP55 enclosure rating for this charger. The final mounting location should follow the manufacturer's installation requirements and be confirmed by the installer.

A dedicated home EV charger should be installed by a licensed electrician. The installer should confirm the circuit design, switchboard capacity, protection requirements and any applicable local electricity-network requirements.
