Terms of Use
Last updated: 7/09/2026
1. About HomeChargerMatch
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the website located at homechargermatch.com.au ("the Website"), ("HomeChargerMatch", "we", "our", "us").
By using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Website.
2. What HomeChargerMatch Is (and Is Not)
HomeChargerMatch is an independent information and recommendation platform for Australian home EV charger selection. We are not a charger retailer, manufacturer, or licensed electrician. We do not sell EV chargers directly, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of any vehicle or charger manufacturer named on this Website.
Our recommendation engine provides general guidance based on the information you submit. It does not replace professional advice from a licensed Australian electrician, who must assess your specific property and complete any home EV charger installation.
3. Changes to These Terms
We may amend these Terms of Use or our Privacy Policy at any time by posting an updated version on the Website. Your continued use of the Website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.
4. Acceptable Use
You may use the Website and its forms (including the recommendation wizard, detailed match form, and installer quote request form) only for their intended purpose: to receive charger recommendations for your own personal use, or to request installation assistance for your own property.
You must not:
- (a) use the Website in connection with a business that competes with HomeChargerMatch;
- (b) submit false, misleading, or another person's information without their consent;
- (c) use automated means (bots, scrapers) to extract data, submit forms, or interact with the Website;
- (d) attempt to compile, copy, republish, sell, or commercially exploit any content, charger data, vehicle data, or installer information from the Website;
- (e) use the Website in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it, or interfere with any other person's use of it;
- (f) attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Website, our systems, or data we hold.
5. Recommendations and Third-Party Information
Charger recommendations are generated based on the information you provide about your vehicle, home electrical setup, and preferences. Recommendations are estimates and general guidance only — they do not constitute a guarantee that a specific charger is suitable for your property. Final suitability must always be confirmed by a licensed electrician before purchase or installation.
Charger and vehicle specifications displayed on the Website are compiled from manufacturer publications and other sources believed to be reliable, but may contain errors or become outdated. Always confirm current specifications directly with the manufacturer or retailer before making a purchasing decision.
6. Installer Partners and Referrals
If you request installation assistance, we may share your enquiry details with a participating installer partner in our network. HomeChargerMatch does not employ installers directly and is not responsible for the quality, timeliness, pricing, licensing status, or conduct of any installer partner. Any contract for installation services is between you and the installer directly.
We take reasonable steps to work only with installers who confirm they hold a current Australian electrical licence, but we do not independently verify every credential, and you should confirm an installer's licence and insurance status yourself before engaging their services.
7. Affiliate and Referral Relationships
HomeChargerMatch is free for consumers to use. We may earn a commission if you purchase a charger through a retailer link on the Website, or a referral fee if you request installer quotes and are connected with an installer partner. This does not affect the price you pay, and it does not influence our charger recommendation rankings, which are generated independently by our recommendation engine based solely on the information you provide.
8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HomeChargerMatch excludes all liability for any loss or damage arising from:
- (a) errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in Website content, including charger or vehicle specifications;
- (b) your reliance on any recommendation, guide, or information provided on the Website;
- (c) the acts, omissions, products, or services of any installer partner, retailer, or third party linked from the Website;
- (d) any interruption, delay, or unavailability of the Website;
- (e) unauthorised access to data transmitted via the Website.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability for breach of such a guarantee cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited (at our election) to re-supplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having the service re-supplied.
9. Linked Websites
The Website contains links to third-party websites (including manufacturer sites, retailer sites, and government resources). These links are provided for convenience only. A link is not an endorsement of the linked site's content, products, or services, and we are not responsible for the content or practices of any linked website.
10. Intellectual Property
Vehicle and charger brand names, logos, and trademarks referenced on the Website are the property of their respective owners and are used solely to identify products for compatibility purposes. This use does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.
All other Website content, including our recommendation methodology, compiled data, and original written content, is owned by HomeChargerMatch and may not be copied, reproduced, or republished without our written permission.
11. Termination of Access
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Website at any time, without notice, at our sole discretion, including where we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify HomeChargerMatch, and our officers, employees, and agents, against any loss, liability, or cost (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms of Use or your misuse of the Website.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
14. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to us via our Contact Form.
