Schneider Schneider Charge

Overview

The Schneider Charge EVH5A22N2S uses a shuttered Type 2 socket and can be configured for 7.4 kW / 32 A single-phase, 11 kW / 16 A three-phase or 22 kW / 32 A three-phase operation. It is rated IP55/IK10 and supports Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Wiser Home control and OCPP 1.6. The charger incorporates 6 mA DC leakage protection. Schneider's installation documentation for 22 kW specifies 40 A Curve C overcurrent protection and 30 mA Type A-SI or Type B EV residual-current protection, subject to applicable Australian installation requirements. Dynamic anti-tripping requires a compatible Schneider peak controller. Wiser Home can control and schedule charging around renewable-energy availability, but this is not standalone surplus-solar diversion built into the charger.

Using this charger at home in Australia

This charger supports higher AC charging speeds where both your home's electrical supply and your EV's onboard AC charger allow. Confirm your home's phase support with a licensed electrician, and check your EV's maximum AC charging capability.

OCPP support allows the charger to communicate with compatible OCPP charging-management platforms. OCPP support by itself does not guarantee integration with a home battery, solar inverter, electricity tariff or every third-party platform.

The manufacturer lists an IP55 enclosure rating for this charger. The final mounting location should follow the manufacturer's installation requirements and be confirmed by the installer.

A dedicated home EV charger should be installed by a licensed electrician. The installer should confirm the circuit design, switchboard capacity, protection requirements and any applicable local electricity-network requirements.
